Grabuki are enigmatic parasites with their an unclear origin. In ancient times, Grabuki were believed to be shapeshifters referred to as 'Primals.' They underwent an evolutionary process, adapting to their surroundings by taking various forms, and benefitting from the creatures around them until they found their definitive form. Upon discovery, the Grabuki sought out a host, transferring their cells into the organism, consuming and mutating it from within to gain control and adopt its form. This cycle of consumption, transformation, and transfer continuous till they become what they look like today.
However, shapeshifting abilities primarily serve for adaptation and survivability during those times meaning this unique ability is no longer as prevalent and remains a rare type of Grabuki among the modern.
Modern Shapeshifters still exist in small numbers, they possess specific restrictions and required traits:
Parasitic Tolerance (mutation): This ability allows Grabuki to endure their Parasitic Mode without overloading their energy and cells, avoiding prolonged recovery periods even during intense levels of the Parasitic Mode. It grants the Grabuki parasitic capabilities to persist beyond the death stage with minimal concern. However, there is a defined period during which the mode gradually diminishes, although it will not prove fatal. The parasitic mode is only a temporary form, and each transformation varies each time.
Warped Tolerance (mutation): This ability permits Grabuki to maintain their parasitic or non-Grabuki form for an extended duration. Possession of Warped Tolerance allows a Grabuki to shapeshift into another existing design. The limit of transformation is one form, commonly referred to as a 'Type: Single Shapeshift,' where the design can manifest as a duplicate in a different form. There are no specified or constrained time limits for this ability. However, unlike Parasitic Mode Tolerance, Grabuki must maintain control over their parasitic mode's intensity.
If the Grabuki both contain the Parasitic Mode Tolerance & Warped Tolerance traits, the Grabuki can have unlimited form categorizing them as a “Full Shapeshifter” type. EXAMPLE BELOW:
