Reproduction and Rehosting in Grabuki:
Grabuki are parasitic organisms lacking traditional reproductive organs. Instead, their life cycle involves a host-based regeneration process. As a Grabuki approaches the end of its life, it seeks a living, functional host organism. Upon death, the decaying Grabuki body undergoes a complete regeneration, forming a new Grabuki within the host. This transformation results in the erasure of all previous memories, traits, and physical characteristics. The host species influences the physical attributes and capabilities of the new Grabuki, including size and strength.
The Grabuki Rehosting Program:
The Rehosting Program is a city official initiative designed to support the rehosting process for aging Grabuki. This complimentary service enables Grabuki to either find a new host independently outside city limits or to be provided with a suitable host by the program. The program aims to ensure the continuation of the Grabuki species in a controlled and ethical manner, reducing the risks associated with unsupervised rehosting.
Consequences of Rehosting on Deceased Organisms:
It is against the biological regulations for Grabuki to take deceased organisms as hosts. Such actions disrupt the natural order and are strongly discouraged by the city. Approximately 98% of these attempts result in the death of the Grabuki. However, survivors transform into a distinct subspecies known as "Eclipse." These individuals undergo severe physiological changes, converting necrotic cells into viable ones, often resulting in significant abnormalities or unprecedented mutations. Eclipse Grabuki possess unique and potentially dangerous abilities, leading to their exclusion from the city due to safety concerns.

Implications of Host Unavailability:
In cases where a Grabuki fails to secure a host and lacks assistant from the Rehosting Program, the organism slowly deteriorates and die. Their bones begin to cracks bit by bit, gradually disintegrating into sand, while their flesh decomposes. Although the decomposed material can enrich local flora, it ultimately disintegrates entirely except for their "meteorite heart." This core remains can be a critical resource for the city or potentially give rise to a new Grabuki under controlled conditions. Details regarding the utilization of meteorite hearts remain confidential and are not disclosed to the public.
